ADVANCING THE DESIGN EXPERIENCE
CHICAGO, IL—Two emerging design professionals have been selected as Kompas Fellows. Fie Krogh Sommer and Dominica Kusmierczyk will join MA's Chicago design studio for this gap year opportunity. Kompas fellows spend 80% of their time on MA’s project work and the remaining 20% exploring an innovative idea that has the potential to affect the field of architecture.
Fie, a graduate of the Aarhus School of Architecture (Aarhus, Denmark), plans to demonstrate how people use their surroundings to identify themselves and others as societies and as individuals. She will articulate how the built environment communicates and impacts culture and daily lives.
Dominica, a graduate of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan), will explore the vibrancy and interaction of tactical-urbanistic outdoor spaces. Her research involves considerations for how elements of nostalgia make these spaces successful.
